This traditional savoury khichdi is the ultimate comfort food even when we are feeling off or tired.
Ingredients
- 1 cup rice
- ½ cup moong dal
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 2 cloves
- 2-inch piece cinnamon
- ¼ tsp turmeric
- 2 tbsp coconut oil
- 3 cups water
Method
- Wash the rice and dal and drain.
- Heat the oil in a cooker and add the cumin seeds, cloves, cinnamon, and turmeric.
- Add the rice and dal and sauté for a minute.
- Add the water and cook in the cooker for 4 whistles.
- Enjoy with papad and pickle.
