Do you remember Apple’s Think Different ad campaign that ran around the turn of the millennium? It featured luminaries and visionaries whose work, creativity, and campaigns changed the human world. It included people like Albert Einstein, Mahatma Gandhi, Jane Goodall, and Cesar Chavez, and this month, that iconic campaign got an upgrade.
Eat Differently
For three months, 29 billboards across the Greater San Diego area feature luminaries who have all been vocal or passionate about eating a plant-based diet. And this includes many of the original visionaries of the original Apple Campaign. That’s right, it seems that many of the world’s changemakers were already eating a vegetarian or vegan diet, including the four people mentioned above.
Inspiring Change
This campaign, coordinated by Eat Differently, aims to inspire people to think for themselves when it comes to what we eat. For most of us, our food choices are not really choices – we eat the kinds of foods we were brought up eating, and we eat what is convenient and familiar. But, as countless vegans know, we can keep the dishes, tastes and flavors that we love when we remove meat, eggs, and dairy from our diets; we just need to think differently to eat differently.
Why Vegan?
When polled, people say they abhor factory farms and yet almost all the meat we eat is from animals who spent their lives inside the punishing factory farm system. Most people will not watch animals being slaughtered as it is too distressing, and yet most people continue to fund slaughter when they purchase the end product. And most people recognize the deep trouble that the planet is in due to climate breakdown, deforestation, the mass wiping out of wildlife, and the pollution of rivers and oceans. One industry that drives all these destructive outcomes is the animal farming industry, and yet we continue to support their reckless and devastating activities when we buy the products they sell. The only way to stop them is to choose to eat differently.
How Vegan?
Knowing all the positive reasons why we should eat a plant-forward diet is one thing, working out how to do that when we have spent our whole lives eating products made from – or taken from – animals is another. But everyone at GenV has already made that change, and we have pooled our advice to help other people do the same.
Plus, we have some excellent guided challenges to help you get started on a plant-based diet, whether you care most about the Earth, animals, other people, or your health. Take a look and sign up for free today.
